Too fast to finish? You’re not the only guy trying to keep it together: according to the Mayo Clinic, premature ejaculation (PE) affects about 1 in 3 men. Researchers followed up with them again in 2012 after surveying 985 Finish men about their sexual experiences and mental health in 2006. To rule out genetic influence, only male twins and twin brothers were studied by the researchers.

Study author Daniel Ventus of Åbo Akademi University told PsyPost that finding with a grain of salt: while their results were short, anxiety should not be completely ignored. “We know, for example, that premature ejaculation is associated with anxiety, but we don’t know the direction of causality: people are anxious because they have sexual difficulties, or have sexual differences because they are anxious?” he said.

Moreover, this study reported not many severe cases of premature ejaculation.
