They released a new video just the other day that saw them placing a red hot steel weight on a frozen lake or calling their actions “frozen video lake stupidity.”
They place it on the 0.3-meter-thick (1-foot-thick) frozen lake after “cooking” the 20-kilogram (44-pound) weight until it glows red hot, causing it to sizzle and steam immediately. The weight gradually sinks into the melting lake within a minute, causing even more aggressive bubbling of the water.
“It’s really weird because it’s boiling water! … So you might be able to boil some potatoes in theory … very hot, it’s like 50 degrees!” With the distinctive Finnish accent that Hydraulic Press Channel fans know and love, Lauri Vuohensilta says in the video.
Vuohensilta even tries his own measuring system by sticking his hand deeper and deeper into the melted water. The results were: “Warm, warm, warm, warm, cold like f*ck.”
