Another MQM-P woman lawmaker leaves for PSP

KARACHI: MNA Fouzia Hameed has also bid adieu to the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and joined Pak Sarzameen Party.

She made the announcement at a press conference at Pakistan House Karachi on Thursday, accompanied by PSP chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamal said, “in the history of Pakistan Pak Sarzameen Party is the only party that got eminence and public support in such a short time span.”

Kamal invited all MQM-P members from Bahadurabad and PIB Colony factions to come forward and join PSP, “together we all shall work for the welfare of people,” he exclaimed.

“We reject the results of the recent census and constituency delimitations, and we will take the matter to the court,” he said.

“The population of Karachi has been underreported by at least seven million, and our provincial minister has signed all documents without expressing any reservations over this attempt to deprive the city of its rightful representation.”

“I can say with certainty that PSP is the only party that the good of Karachi at its heart. I have delivered development for this city and its residents and I know how to do that again. We have all the plans in place to transform the city’s administration.”

Kamal said his party condemned the politics of hatred. He said people he had not seen active in politics in the past had come forward and joined PSP in hordes. “People of all ethnicities are now supporting the PSP.”

Speaking to the media, Fouzia Hameed said, “Everyone in MQM-P is looking for their own vested interests. The party has no concern for the welfare of the people of Karachi. I have joined PSP for the betterment of my city, province and country.” “I know that Syed Mustafa Kamal listens to all his workers about their concerns on matters of political importance before reaching a decision. I’m confident that he will take the PSP forward with consensus of all his party workers,” she added PSP president Anees Qaim Khani was also present at the press conference.
