Two factions of Muslim Conference forge unity, Shabir Dar will head the party

Srinagar: The two factions of Muslim Conference met today to forge unity. The leaders present were Shabir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Sultan Magtau, Mehraj-ud-Din Soleh,Nazir Ahmad, Abdul Hamid and Farooq Ahmad Reshi.

“It was decided that Muslim Conference was formed to liberate Kashmir from Indian occupation with an clear cut agenda. We believe that Kashmir dispute is actually unfinished agenda of 1947 and all the freedom lovers must unite  to achieve this goal. So the need was felt that when India is using all  its power to suppress the freedom movement, we must sink our differences and join to fight the common enemy.”

The statement added: “It was decided unanimously that Shabir Ahmad Dar will be the Chairman of the party.

“It was also decided that Manzoor-ul-Haq Bhat will continue to serve as the representative at base camp AJK. It was pledged that the unity efforts will continue till the objective is achieved,” the statement reads.

Besides it was also decided that an Executive Meeting of Muslim Conference will be held on Thursday April 19 in Srinagar. (CNS)
